Synod School is a learning and personal enrichment experience for people of all ages. We seek to create an environment of hospitality, healing, and hope. The week is designed for laity, clergy, individuals and families with classes and activities for adults, youth, and children.

Come…

  • to participate in a unique experience of Christian community as we worship, study, play, and live together;
  • to grow in faith through action, relationships, and a centering of the spirit;
  • for continuing education, for a special family experience, or for individual growth;
  • to take it all in, then return home to share and serve.

Synod School Committee will be hybrid - those who feel comfortable in person will come to campus and others can participate in online classes, worship, fellowship, and more.  Buena Vista University has been hybrid since winter.  They have a variety of practices in place from traffic patterns, changes in the cafeteria, classroom cleaning procedures and more.  Classroom capacities are reduced due to social distancing.  As a committee we have discussed many aspects about what it will mean to live in community at this time in our history.  As decisions are made, we will email them to all who are registered at the time and also post them on the Synod website.

Please note we are only collecting registration fees at this point.  If we can go in person, we will be in touch to have you register and pay separately for your room and board.  For those who plan to participate only online, the only fees are the registration fees.

Sincerely,

The Synod School Committee – Dan Voigt, Dean; Meredith Sauer, Associate Dean;

Jim Bonewald, Dan Davis, Kristi Hill, Pam Prouty, Deanna Reikow, Mac Stanfield;  and Deb DeMeester, Staff
